Domaine de La Chaise Chenonceaux Rouge 2014 AOP Touraine Chenonceaux Rouge. 12.5%

An excellent example of the new Cru Chenonceau Rouge. Made from Cot (Malbec) and Cabernet Franc. Hints of violets on the nose soft with ripe fruit flavours. Exhibits the rounded tannins of a mature Loire red wine. Enjoy with roast meats and cheese

This is what The Wine Gang had to say about the 2013 (and 2014 is generally considered a better vintage in this part of the Loire)
From Touraine, most famous of course for its white Sauvignons Blanc, this is a 50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Cot (Malbec) blend from an appellation authorised only in 2011. It's delightfully fragrant stuff, creamy raspberry and floral, violet scents marry with fresh black cherry. In the mouth it is perfectly fruity, the racy and pert charm of unadorned Cabernet Franc and Malbecs more red-fruited side, medium bodied and gentle in the finish despite a bit of tannic backbone and good acidity. Lovely with some hard cheese.
Goes with: Casseroles and stews, Hard cheese
