Jerome Collas produces mostly red wine, but he has a few parcels of 50 year old Grenache and Macabeu vines at high altitude (350 metres). Historically these were used to produce sweet fortified wine for the French market. Today he produces very little sweet wine and uses most of these grapes to produce an amazing dry white wine. The juice  (45% Grenache Gris, 25% Grenache Blanc, 25% Macabeu) is fermented in new French oak barrels. Hints of flowers, almonds and white fruits. Crisp and refreshing finish. A delightful style of wine rarely found in the UK.

This is what the press has said about the 2014 vintage wine
"Sleek and juicy as a grapefruit in the grip of glorious savoury dreams!" Olly Smith
"A little oak on the nose and palate, nicely integrated fruit and fresh acidity. Harmonious, long finish" 95 points, Rosemary George, Decanter July 2016
David William's Wine Gang wine of the month August 2016 "a quite deliciously complex dry white where honey, nuts and fleshy peachy orchard fruit is balanced by a pulsing undertow of minerals and racy citrus fruit. Gastronomic wine as the French would say, that would work very well with creamy white meat dishes or herby chicken"
